Locally listed buildings, parks and gardens

As well as the national statutory listing process, buildings, structures and parks and gardens can be locally listed by the Local Planning Authority.

Locally listed buildings are not protected the same as a nationally listed buildings. They are a ‘material consideration’ in the planning process meaning the Local Planning Authority must consider the impact of any proposed development on a locally listed building or park and garden.

The local list is being updated, and will be available soon.
